Wire Harness Design Engineer
We are seeking a talented Wire Harness Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of high-quality wire harnesses for our electrical and electronic products. As a Wire Harness Design Engineer, you will use your expertise in electrical engineering and harness design principles to create efficient, reliable, and cost-effective wire harness designs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure harnesses meet design specifications, manufacturability requirements, and industry standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in wire harness design for electrical and electronic products
- Proficiency in CAD software for harness design, such as Mentor Graphics Capital, Zuken E3.series, or Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic components, wire gauges, and connector systems
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, signal integrity, and EMC/EMI considerations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
Job Responsibilities
- Design wire harnesses for various applications, considering electrical and mechanical requirements, component selection, and routing constraints
- Collaborate with product designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to understand design requirements and specifications
- Select appropriate wires, connectors, and accessories for wire harness designs
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Perform design reviews and provide recommendations for improvements
- Work closely with wire harness manufacturers to ensure smooth production and timely delivery
- Conduct validation and testing activities to ensure the performance and reliability of wire harnesses
- Generate accurate documentation, including wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and bill of materials (BOM)
